King George VI, the present Queen’s father, inherited 239 loose diamonds when he ascended the throne in 1936, 105 of these diamonds were used to create this 3 row festoon necklace with triangle motifs on either side. As the diamonds were an inheritance, necklace is an heirloom of the crown

It has been worn frequently by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II, who has worn it to various events and more recently during the State Opening of Parliament.
