The stunning design of this necklace combines nine cabochon emeralds which were originally owned by Queen Mary’s grandmother, the Duchess of Cambridge. The pendant emerald has two pendant drops of an emerald and the Cullinan VII diamond. The necklace is part of a suite of jewellery that Queen Mary had made for the Delhi Durbar in 1911

The necklace was made by Garrards the Queen’s jewellers at the time, at the request of George V.  It was especially made for Queen Mary for the Delhi Durbar in 1911.  It was presented to Queen Mary on her 44th Birthday.
