The Josephine Tiara Replica

At the coronation ceremony in Notre Dame Cathedral, Napoleon, after crowning himself, crowned Josephine as his wife by her own right

The diadem was later inherited by her daughter, Hortense.  It is set with 1040 diamonds.

In 1887 the French republic decided to hold a sale of its treasures, and the diadem was bought by a New York firm Van Cleef & Aspels.  It has remained in their possession to this day.
